Princeton Tec Apex Headlamp
I’ve owned my Princeton Tec Apex led headlamp for about 2 years now and its has worked perfectly. The light beam is very powerful and ideal for beach fishing. I choose this over a belt-and-battery spelio/tiger type headlamp because I find it a pain in the arse doing all the charging and carrying all the weight around on my belt.
The headlamp has a choice of either a direct beam via 1 main led or flood light setting via 4 leds - these can be operatred at two differnt intensities to save battery power. I wil say that if you operate on full beam all the time the batteries only last 3/4 hours - the lower setting is plenty bright enough for baiting up and general fishing.
The headband is a bit annoying as its sort of gone a bit out of shape and weird. Other than that its very good.
Its totally bombproof, waterproof and anglerproof! The build quality is very good, its looks good, and its easy to use.
With up to 60 Lumens of light output from a 3 Watt LED, the Apex is one of the most powerful LED headlamps in the world. It uses microprocessor technology to both regulate output and keep the user informed about usable battery life. Apex also uniquely utilises a proprietary heat dissipation system to allow continuously high output without having a shutdown.
For the price I would say its one of the best in the range and well worth a thought.

very nice headlamp. Robust, waterproof, good price, good light beam - idea for sea fishing. The only thing i’d sasy is the batery duration of the main beam on full setting is only 4hrs tops - which is probably plenty for most trips.
